Breaking: Rivers Administrator Takes Office in Port Harcourt, Convenes Security Meeting

Rivers State’s newly appointed Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-ete Ibas, has arrived in the state to begin his duties.

At 11:25 am on Thursday, he touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport and received a warm welcome from senior government officials and security personnel.

In light of the state’s escalating political tensions, Ibas will bring his wealth of experience to his new position as the former chief of naval staff in Nigeria.

The administrator then immediately drove to Government House in Port Harcourt while being accompanied by the state commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adepoju and the assistant inspector general of police, Zone 16.

Some government officials surrounded Ibas as he arrived at the Government House.

He is currently arranging a meeting behind closed doors with state government representatives, federal government delegation, and senior security officials.
