Breaking: Mudashiru Obasa Rejects Impeachment, Insists He Remains Lagos Speaker

In spite of his impeachment by the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, is still insisting that he is the rightful speaker.

Obasa’s impeachment came after allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office, with 90% of lawmakers voting to remove him – 32 of the 40-member legislature.

Obasa insists he continues to be the legitimate Speaker of the House despite alleging any wrongdoing.

Addressing large supporters on Saturday at the Speaker’s Lodge, 47, Ikeja GRA, Obasa said that it was important for the lawmakers to “follow constitutional procedure” to remove him as speaker.

The former speaker also disputed the lawmakers’ claims of corruption in order to justify his removal, calling the alleged financial misappropriations “impossible” and denying that.

As the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Obasa told his supporters, “The right procedure was not followed, so I’m not afraid of being removed.”

I don’t think the process is right, until they follow the right path.
