Issy Wong is a member of the England Pathway squad for a training camp in Abu Dhabi.

The 22-year-old fast bowler from Warwickshire is a member of a 15-person squad that has traveled to the UAE for the warm-weather camp.

Wong is attempting to resume her English career after slipping since 2023.

She made her debut in all three formats as a 20-year-old in 2022 and with her pace and aggression, was seen as one of England’s most exciting prospects.

After being called “pin-up girl” by the England and Wales Cricket Broad (ECB), former England coach Mark Robinson claimed she had been handled incorrectly.

Wong most recently participated in the white-ball series against Ireland in September, when the majority of the first XI were getting ready for the T20 World Cup, while signing a development contract with the ECB for 2024-25.

Wong, who has 16 wickets for England in all three of their three formats, will work with Chris Liddle, the program’s coach, during the camp, from February 27 to March 8.

We are excited about the next stage of our pace program, getting the players practice scenarios, and the challenges that they will face, according to Liddle, the player group.

“We have seen some incredible improvements in each player over the winter, and this camp encourages further development, allowing improvements made before to be made under additional strain,” said the coach.
