Boko Haram Attack Police Station In Borno, Kills Two Personnel
In Borno State’s Gajiram, Nganzai Local Government Area, Boko Haram terrorists attacked a police station, killing two police officers.
The terrorists exchanged gun with police on duty at the station before being eventually overpowered and repelled with the assistance of the civilian joint taskforce who are stationed close to the police station. One more police officer suffered serious injuries as a result.
According to a security source, the Boko Haram terrorists attacked around 11pm on Wednesday.
No facility or security equipment were impacted by the attack, according to the source.

However, a police statement which confirmed the attack, said it happened at about 12: 10am on Thursday.
Granades were discovered during an assessment tour of the scene of the attack in Nganzai by the Borno State Commissioner of Police, Yusufu Lawal, according to the statement signed by the Borno State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Kenneth Daso.
“Unknown gunmen suspected of being BokoHaram terrorists attempted to invade Nganzai Police Division on January 9, 2025, at around 12:10 am. Gallant officers who were on watch repelled the terrorists, and the terrorist threw handgrenades that unfortunately fell onto a shelter tent behind the division, fatally injuring two officers.
Two hand-grenades were recovered by EOD – CBRN Base 13 Maiduguri during the evaluation of the scene by the Commissioner of Police, and the deceased’s body was transported to State General Hospital Maiduguri.
The two officers who were killed in the attack received condolences from the Commissioner of Police, who commended the brave officers who stood on the ground to stop the attack.
