Bob Geldof has admitted to bringing drugs into the United Kingdom from Australia, claiming that his “gig can’t go on” without them.
The Boomtown Rats frontman, who is renowned for co-writing the Band Aid hit ‘ Do They Know It’s Christmas? ‘, recently disclosed his unique morning routine. Alongside a strong black tea, Bob revealed he needs to take two tablets, but faces a significant problem as they’ve “banned the f***ing thing in England”.
However, it seems the 73-year-old political activist isn’t opposed to breaking a few rules to avoid feeling “a bit sore and stiff”. Speaking to the Mail, Bob said: “When I wake up, I have to have strong black tea, and then I have to take two Aspro Clear tablets”.
He likened the routine to a “direct injection” or a “mainline into your system”, explaining that the soluble aspirin “loosens” him up when he’s feeling “a bit sore and stiff” from the previous night. He continued: “Problem is, they banned the f***ing thing in England for some stupid reason.
” So when we come to Australia, we stock up and sneak them back into the UK – or else, simply, the gig can’t go on. Aspirin is reportedly discontinued in the UK in 2022, but other brands are readily available in both soluble and tablet forms.

According to the NHS, aspirin is a commonly used painkiller for headaches, toothache, and period pain. It can also reduce fever and help manage cold or flu symptoms, reports the Express.
If you’ve experienced a stroke or heart attack, your doctor might recommend taking a daily low-dose aspirin. If someone is having a heart attack, this is also the case.
Last October, Bob was spotted on Australia’s Gold Coast filming for his upcoming film, Zombie Plane, donning a green and orange tracksuit and sunglasses. In the film, Bob, known for his roles in Pink Floyd: The Wall and Spice World, shares the screen with Chuck Norris and Vanilla Ice.
