Blake Lively seeking stronger protective order over ‘violent’ messages amid Justin Baldoni case

In response to her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively is requesting a protection order to shield those close to her from “violent” messages that have been released.
Hollywood has been in shock since Blake, 37, filed a lawsuit against her 41-year-old co-star and director Justin in December of last year. When Justin then filed a counterclaim against Blake for defamation and repetitional harm, the legal drama engulfing the actors’ respective production teams as well as their public relations teams.
As details about the complaint and counterclaim’s contents have strewn about the world, tensions have increased even further in the intervening weeks. According to reports, Blake is now urging a judge to protect her and those close to her because she has been the target of threats.
The star has already been protected by the court, but Blake’s legal team reappeared in court on Thursday to demand more action to protect her, her family, and those close to her and the case. In order to reduce the amount of shock headlines generated by the case, her lawyer urged that some aspects of the case be kept under the “Attorney’s Eyes Only” section.

According to legal documents, Blake’s legal team requested more stringent rules for the case in a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman. Defining what would be considered to constitute material sensitive enough to be labelled “Attorney’s Eyes Only”, the letter reportedly suggests: “highly confidential and personal, sensitive, or proprietary nature that the revelation of such is likely to cause a competitive, business, commercial, financial, personal or privacy injury”.
The request goes on to claim that the justification of this would be due to the case involving: “high-profile individuals, to whom a duty of confidentiality is owed”. And outlining a request for greater protection, the letter notes: “As detailed in Ms. Lively’s Amended Complaint, Ms. Lively, her family, other members of the cast, various fact witnesses, and individuals that have spoken out publicly in support of Ms. Lively have received violent, profane, sexist, and threatening communications”.
Blake and Justin’s representatives have been in contact with The Mirror for comment. Due to the A List parties at the center of the drama, the ongoing legal battle has generated a lot of public interest.
Ryan Reynolds, a Canadian actor, and Blake and Justin are both actors in their own right, but he has been thrown into the legal battle. He has however denied the allegations that were made against him. Taylor Swift, a world-renowned actor, has also been dragged into the spotlight with one claim that she was involved in the casting of one of the characters from It Ends With Us. The singer of Purple Haze hasn’t been directly involved in the legal proceedings.
Due to the fact that the case isn’t scheduled to start in court until March 2026, there might be more than a year of additional drama surrounding it.
