Lawyers for Blake Lively have requested access to Justin Baldoni’s phone records as their legal battle rages on.

Last year, Blake, 37, filed a legal complaint accusing Justin, 41, of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment on the set of It Ends With Us, as well as embarking on a “multi-tiered plan” with his team to damage her reputation. Justin, who has denied the allegations, has since countersued Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, for $400m (£326m) for an alleged attempt to destroy his reputation and career.

It’s now been reported that Lively’s attorneys have sent subpoenas for phone records of several individuals in a bid to support their allegation that Justin launched a smear campaign against her. Variety reports that her lawyers sent a subpoena on Wednesday for his phone records.

The outlet adds that the attorneys sent subpoenas to three phone carriers – AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile – seeking records pertaining to Justin, producer Jamey Heath and Wayfarer Studios co-founder Steve Sarowitz. The subpoenas are said to also seek the phone records of publicists Jennifer Abel and Melissa Nathan.

A spokesperson for Blake said in a statement to the outlet: “Phone records belonging to all of the individual defendants will expose the full web of individuals who were involved in the smear campaign against Ms. Lively. Such records will provide critical and irrefutable evidence not only about who, but also about when, where, and how their retaliation plan came together and operated.”

Bryan Freedman, Justin’s attorney, said: “Subpoenas are an ordinary part of the litigation process. What is extraordinary is what the Lively Parties are seeking. They are asking for every single call, text, data log, and even real-time location information for the past 2.5 years, regardless of the sender, recipient, or subject matter.” He also said in a statement: “This massive fishing expedition demonstrates that they are desperately seeking any factual basis for their provably false claims. They will find none.”

Blake’s lawyers reportedly also sent subpoenas to two internet providers, Cloudflare and AOL, as well as to Jed Wallace. Jed is a crisis consultant who has sued Blake for defamation following claims that he was involved in the alleged smear campaign against her – which he has denied.

Her attorneys Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson told Variety: “Ms. Lively has initiated discovery that will expose the people, tactics and methods that have worked to ‘destroy’ and ‘bury’ her reputation and family over the past year.” It’s further reported that both sides are also expected to seek to obtain communications records directly from each other during the litigation.
