Billy Ray Cyrus has expressed his concern for his family, stating he is “praying” for them.
The singer, who is known as “Achy Breaky Heart,” has spoken out for the first time since Trace Cyrus, 35, his eldest son, expressed concerns about him. Billy Ray and his daughters Brandi, 37, Miley, 32, and Noah, 25, are reportedly “genuinely worried” about Trace.
The country singer, 63, expressed his desire for reconciliation and healing within the family in a sincere social media post.
A clip from Billy Ray’s 2009 music video, Somebody Said a Prayer, features Trace, who he adopted when he wed his now-ex-wife Tish Cyrus in 1993. On his YouTube channel, a message to his family was posted with the video.
He captioned the video: “Sunday callin’. Thanks for the California Rain, I’m grateful. Praying for those who are suffering and brokenhearted. Praying for my family. For my children… sons and daughters… and their mother. Let us all experience the start of healing at this very moment. The past does not equal the future. ‘ Amen”.
This comes after Billy Ray’s unusual performance at Donald Trump’s Liberty Inaugural Ball last week, which led Trace to admit that he “barely recognises” his father anymore and accused him of “pushing away” his children.
