The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles battled it out to win the Super Bowl on Sunday, holding on to win it.

After the Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams 28-22, the Bills won a much-anticipated game 27-25 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Both games were played in snow, with Baltimore’s trip to Buffalo seeing quarterbacks Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, the leading contenders to be named this season’s Most Valuable Player, go head-to-head.

And it was Allen who came out on top as the Bills set up another post-season match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs, the two-time defending champions, for a place in Super Bowl 59.

With one and a half minutes left, Baltimore’s tight end Mark Andrews dropped a two-point conversion that would have tied the game.

Jackson won his second MVP award last year, and he may receive another when the winner is announced during Super Bowl week. However, seven years into his career, the NFL’s biggest game hasn’t yet been revealed.

The 28-year-old has only participated in one AFC Championship game, losing to the Chiefs last year, keeping him from reaching the Super Bowl.

Barkley’s bursts prove crucial for Eagles.

Saquon Barkley, the Eagles running back, may have had 2, 005 rushing yards this year, which ranks eighth on the all-time list. However, his quarterback Jalen Hurts made the longest run of his career on the opening drive in Philadelphia against the Rams, scoring a 44-yard touchdown run.

Los Angeles replied with a Tyler Higbee touchdown, before Barkley broke through for a 62-yard score.

The Rams kicked a field goal to cut the half-time deficit to 13-10 and, as the snow got heavier after the interval, both teams settled for a field goal in the third quarter.

Hurts suffered a knee injury on that Eagles drive, and he was stranded in his own end zone for safety on the next possession, lowering the score to 16-15.

The Eagles punished each error with a field goal, and the game finally appeared to be over when Barkley raced clear once more, this time from 72 yards, to make it 28-15 with less than five minutes left.

However, with less than two minutes left, Los Angeles immediately responded with a touchdown run from Colby Parkinson and then forced a quick three-and-out from the Eagles.

Matthew Stafford, a veteran quarterback who won the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022, has made 51 game-winning drives and appeared to be on the verge of another when Puka Nacua threw a superb catch on his shoulder to take the Rams to Philadelphia’s 21-yard line.
