Betis best placed to sign Man Utd’s Antony on loan
Real Betis, a La Liga club, are in the hunt for Manchester United winger Antony, who will be on loan for the rest of the season.
The Brazilian has failed to live up to his claim to be the second-highest player to ever play for United.
When United signed Antony in August 2022, he cost United an estimated £81. 3 million. Since then, he has scored 12 goals, three of which have come in his first three Premier League games.
The 24-year-old has only scored one Premier League goal since April 2023, and his chances of starting for the first team have declined, from 23 league starts in his first year to 15 last season and none since the current campaign.
Antony has featured in just 13 of United’s 32 games in all competitions this season.
He squandered a magnificent opportunity against Southampton on Thursday, sliding onto an Alejandro Garnacho cross, managing to turn the ball back to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale with an empty goal in mind.
Numerous clubs have contacted United about Antony, who is aware that they will be paying his wages.
