Rob Beckett will appear in Celebrity Gladiators, but the comedian has been open about difficulties along the way despite having a successful career.
Rob, 39, married long term girlfriend Louise Watts in 2015. The star told the Daily Mail that the couple, who were both in their early 20s, had “paid all the bills” while being a comedian without any income. Rob describes parenting as the “best thing I have ever done” for the couple, who have two young daughters.
He claimed for the Guardian that “it’s better than a promotion or the smell of a new car when your daughter snuggles up to you on the sofa to watch TV.” That’s the real stuff, not your status in society”. The versatile star, who presented the spin off show of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and co-host of the parenting podcast Parenting Hell with Josh Widdecombe, who co-hosts E4’s Celebs Go Dating.

The pair went on a live tour because the show started in lockdown and gained so much popularity. In a candid discussion about parenting, Rob told the BBC, “I love my kids to pieces and try my best, but sometimes I’m rubbish at it.” “And that’s life. And if you don’t accept you’re rubbish at it sometimes, you’ll never get better”.
The presenter has had to go through some difficult times, despite having a happy family life and having a very successful career in South East London. “On January 4, 2020, I was nailing it”, he wrote in his autobiography A Class Act. “I had just flown into Cape Town, South Africa, in first class to film a TV show. The highlight of the show was getting paid, drinking beer, going on safari with one of my best friends, and watching cricket. During a tour that was a sell-out, this filming was stifled throughout.
” Happily married to the love of my life, with two kids in a family home newly renovated, I had surpassed my wildest dreams, “continued the star”. But I never got the best of all. I awoke on January 5 in a five-star hotel room with the idea that everyone would find it easier and quicker to accept my death.
Rob, who is also credited with hosting Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats, told his wife and manager that he had been seeing a therapist for six months after returning to the UK. When he senses “the darkness creeping in,” he still has refresher sessions.

Rob says in his book, “I’m telling you this because I always promote the message that people should talk about mental health, but I rarely do. So here I am, talking. When I had everything I could possibly need, I wanted to pass away. Never, therefore, judge yourself for your lack of energy. Tell someone, and they’ll make you feel better.
The funny man claims that he had time to reflect and recover from the pandemic. Along with Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel, and other Hollywood actors, he also landed an acting role in the huge Disney film Cinderella as his podcast grew. Before I sorted my head out, he said, “That would have killed me.” But I loved it because it was one of the first jobs I took on after the pandemic, and I loved it.
The former market stall trader discusses how his working-class roots caused him to develop the schism in his comedic career, which is known for being very middle-class. Sir Elton John, Kourtney Kardashian, and Jonathan Ross were among the list guests at a party at Jimmy Carr’s London home. He brought eight Heineken cans and a bottle of tequila in a carrier bag to the Mexican-themed bash because he didn’t want to leave empty-handed.
” I walked in with this big blue bag and thought: ‘ F***, I know this isn’t the right thing to bring, but I can’t ditch it now, they’ve seen it’, “said Rob of arriving at Jimmy’s mansion”. So I simply owned the moment, which was an open goal for Jimmy and Elton, me bowling in with a bag from the offie.
