Kenza Dali, a midfielder for Aston Villa, will join San Diego Wave as a US player.
The France international, 33, was left out of Villa’s squad for their Women’s Super League draw with Everton on Saturday.
Dali spent the game on Merseyside, but she will probably fly over to the US this week to finish her move.
Under former manager Robert de Pauw, she has been in discussions with San Diego Wave while interim Villa boss Shaun Goater has been in charge. She has struggled for game time this year.
Since moving to Villa from Everton in 2022, Dali has made nine goals in 67 appearances.
Former Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall, who was appointed Casey Stoney’s permanent replacement in January, is in charge of San Diego Wave, which are run by the national women’s soccer league.
