The first campmate to be chosen off the new series of I’m A Celebrity this week has been voted out by host host Ant McPartlin, who said he is “not surprised.”

At the conclusion of Friday night’s episode, the public revealed that Loose Women panelist Jane, 62, had been chosen to leave the show. After leaving the jungle, she described it as “such a strange and magical experience.”

Whilst discussing her departure, Jane appeared to take a swipe at some of her co-stars, with her saying: “Hard work doesn’t get rewarded”. The former contestant, who said in relation to chores that she “worked like a dog” whilst in camp, however would not name any particular campmates.

Discussing the result of the first vote, host Ant, 49, revealed on companion show I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked that he was not surprised that Jane left first. He suggested that she had “hit the nail on the head” in her own assessment.

Jane Moore will become the first campmate to leave this year’s I’m A Celebrity (ITV) on Friday.

Ant commented: “I’m not surprised because I think she kind of hit the nail on the head”. He then explained on the spin-off show: “If you work hard down there and do loads of chores, and just get things done… not a lot of that is seen”.

His co-host Dec Donnelly, 49, responded: “Sometimes you go under the radar a little bit”. Ant added: “Yeah, you do”. Fans are more interested in “entertaining chats” and bushtucker trials, he continued, as opposed to choreography.

We’ve had that many instances where people go, “but I’ve done everything down there,” and you go, “yes, but we didn’t get to see it because what the viewers want to see are amusing chats and trials, not necessarily someone scrubbing pots every day,” Ant said.

Ant made the suggestion earlier in the series that some campmates weren’t getting the same screen time as others. He at the time urged viewers to stop supporting Dean McCullough in order to allow other celebrities to participate in trials. Since then, Dean has participated in the majority of trials.

When the campmate was voted for his sixth trial last week, Ant said in a message for viewers: “Right. Let’s all have a serious talk. I’m going to direct my gaze here. I think it’s good to see other faces down there”.

Ant continued: “This is not a personal thing. It’s not about Dean, it’s about us just seeing different people down there. And I believe that different personalities should be featured on the program. Some people unfortunately aren’t getting]screen time]”.
