‘Why wasn’t my daughter included?’: Andy Cohen reveals Housewives’ backlash over recently announced WWHL Kids Special
Andy Cohen announced that a special edition of his hit Bravo debrief show Watch What Happens Live would feature the children of various Real Housewives.
And the host revealed that a few housewives had vocalized issue with their kids’ omittance from the special, on the Wednesday episode of his SiriusXM show Radio Andy.
Though he did not name names, Cohen shared that he had gotten quite a few calls from angered reality stars who asked him: ‘Why wasn’t my daughter included?’
The current special is set to feature a stacked lineup, including RHONJ’ Teresa Giudice’s daughter Gia, and Atlanta housewives Kim Zolciak Biermann and Kandi Burruss’ daughters Brielle and Riley.
Other famous offspring include, NYC vets Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer’s daughters Victoria and Avery, Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks’ son Brooks, and Briana Culberson – the daughter of RHOC’ Vicki Gunvalson.
Of the franchise’s reaction to his choice in casting, Cohen told a radio caller: ‘First of all, I will say I heard from two moms yesterday saying, “Why wasn’t my daughter included?”‘
The caller asked if a woman in question was Sonja Morgan from NYC to which he replied: ‘I would have loved to have Quincy [Morgan’s daughter]… She’s never been on the show. So I wouldn’t even ask.’
Many of the franchise stars have daughters making it hard to pinpoint exactly who had dropped a call to Andy, but Twitter had their own guesses.
Users were quick to cast their votes for who the disgruntled housewives were with some thinking that Beverly Hills housewife Lisa Rinna was a strong contender.
She has model daughters Delilah Belle, and Amelia Gray Hamlin who has been dating 37-year-old Scott Disick.
And Rinna continued to fuel that she may have been one of the women, posting a graphic on Instagram Wednesday that read: ‘The older I get, the meaner I get. I’m pretty sure it won’t be long before I start biting people.’
Additionally on Andy’s initial tweet about the special on April 6, in which he tagged the tapped offspring, former OC housewife Lauri Peterson’s daughter Ashley Zarlin commented ‘I thought you loved me…’
Though Andy has a relatively personal relationship with many of the housewives — all of which were in attendance at his baby shower in 2019 — at the end of the day his role as producer and host means business comes first.
