Afe Babalola Drops Charges Against Dele Farotimi After Ooni’s Intervention
The founder and chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola has dropped all criminal charges against human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi following the intervention of , Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ofunwusi.  ,
Babalola, who made this claim on Sunday, claimed that the Ooni and other well-known traditional rulers had intervened.
Recalled that Farotimi claimed that the ABUAD founder corrupted the judiciary in a book titled “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.”
Aare Afe Babalola, who addressed journalists, stated that he had no choice but to uphold the laws of traditional institutions, and that an Oba’s statement has always been a command.
He said, “I rejected an oil block, defended the EFCC law, and also rejected ministerial nominees twice, and I wondered why anyone would try to defame everything he had worked so hard for.”

” I have nothing to gain from his imprisonment, I am happy each time I give”.
Oba Adeyeye Oguwusi, the Ooni of Ife, had earlier urged Babalola to take into account the various organizations and individuals who have intervened in the situation.
Babalola was hailed as a Yoruba race hero and given praise for his contributions to the development of the country, the nation, and the rest of the world.
We all spoke up about the issue with him, and he praised the Obas in full and agreed.
“We Obas can attest to Aare Afe Babalola’s diligent work and the fact that no one can deny or refute their efforts to establish his name.”
Aare Afe Babalola has shown that he values his name and that he has been heard repeatedly throughout history.
