Accidents: Abia Gov Restricts Movement Of Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Heavy-duty vehicles are not allowed to travel through Aba and Umuahia between 7am and 8pm, according to Alex Otti, the governor of Abya State.
The governor added that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the remote and immediate causes of the fatal motor accident that happened at Ogbor Hill Aba’s Waterside Bridge.
Otti announced that steps would be taken to prevent future occurrence, including limiting the movement of heavy-duty trucks to only operate at night, on behalf of his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba.
He stated that the measures are to prevent heavy-duty vehicles from operating during the day but at night.
The governor thanked God that those affected were doing well and expressed the hope that they would soon be released while visiting several hospitals in Aba where the accident victims were receiving treatment.
