2027: SDP’s Adebayo Rules Out Merger With APC, Others
Prior to the 2027 elections, Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) presidential candidate for president in 2023, rejected any potential merger or collaboration with the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other party.
At a meeting with the party’s state executive on Saturday, he addressed the audience in Abeokuta, the state capital of Ogun State.
Solomon Dalung, a former sports minister, and the party’s chairman in Ogun, Oyo, Lagos, among others, accompanied him during his visit. He criticized SDP’s claims as an apex of the APC, and said the party still cared about the well-being of all Nigerians.
“They should go to the hospital to get it if APC has appendicitis,” the doctor said. We have a strong party. We are older than any other available parties. We are not working with them in government, as is clear.
In the previous election, I led the party. I’m still here, standing. I’m not a minister under Tinubu; the National Secretary, National Secretary, and all other State Chairman remain. He continued, “We are now standing on our own.”

Because our party is a party of intellect, people don’t criticize us because we don’t attack people to address issues. The only party with a little left is ours. Since we arrived in 1989, we have been somewhat to the left.
According to Obafemi Awolowo, “the problems of Nigeria can only be solved by solutions on the left, which is that chapter two of the Constitution, invest money in education, housing, healthcare, and good infrastructure, and let them lead more abundant lives.”
El-Rufai, SDP’s Adebayo, Has Strengths On Which El-Rufai Has Strengths To Work On.
Is there any kind of agreement between the parties to reach or act jointly, he added? Anyone is welcome to join the SDP, provided they are required to understand our creed. We support progress and justice.
Our heart is just as white as the horse is. We want the people of Nigeria to receive the assurances that MKO Abiola has given. Abiola wished poverty a happy ending.
He gave his life to make it possible. Therefore, anyone who wants to join SDP must first ask themselves, “Can you make the sacrifice Abiola made?”
He asserted that only those with questionable character could enter the party.
“We are combining with the people of Nigeria.” You can’t simultaneously support the poor and the powerful at the same time. If someone tells you that I am a party that supports the oppressed and that they are hanging out with oppressors, they don’t know what you want. He asserted that SDP is unmistakably in favor of the people.
