IOC board recommends lifting Russia ban if no further doping violations at Pyeongchang 2018
Russia should regain its Olympic status if there are no further doping violations at Pyeongchang 2018, the International Olympic Committee executive board has recommended.
But the IOC board says Russian athletes should not be allowed to parade under their own flag at the closing ceremony.
Decisions on both issues will be made at a full session of the IOC, which is taking place in Pyeongchang.
Russia was banned because of state-sponsored doping at Sochi 2014.
A team of 168 athletes were allowed to compete in South Korea as neutral Olympic athletes from Russia but two have subsequently failed doping tests.
